The fastest way to get someone to be your friend is to ask them about their cat.
No, really.
Humans will go on for days about the tiny predators that live in their houses, they give them names and assign personalities, they love to show off wounds the cats have inflicted on them, they will whip out hundreds of pictures that may all look the same to you but I promise, even a modicum of appreciation will garner you the friendship you seek.
Once asked, the question is understood to be permanently on the table, and your human friend will give you cat updates from time to time. Nod and appreciate them. When the cat dies, the human will deeply mourn, so best to offer what comfort you can as if sympathizing over a deceased family member.
my favorite Millennial Thing™ is when a group of us are standing around and talking and someone asks a question that no one knows the answer to and suddenly it’s a race to get out your phone and google it and be the first to know, and then someone starts reading the Wikipedia article about the thing aloud to everyone else, and what started as a casual conversation is now A Learning Opportunity and we all walk away a little more knowledgeable about a random topic
Like, Boomers hate when we do that, but I think it’s one of the best things about us.
So long as we have internet or a cell signal, all of the world’s collective knowledge is at our fingertips, and damned if we aren’t going to use it.
My dad always get mad when I do this. He’s always like “We didn’t need to know.” That makes no sense to me. Why would that make me ignore my ability to learn something? I don’t always *need* to know but that doesn’t mean I’m going to pass up an opportunity to learn something new.
Why carry a supercomputer around in your pocket if you’re not gonna use it?
I actually think the ability to do this has made us all a little more humble in our opinions. You can’t just confidently make an argument based on incorrect facts. Wikipedia is always there to undermine you and I love that.

That explains so much about our parents generation.
Mindfulness can be useful for literally E V E R Y O N E, but I found it particularly helpful for anxiety– this exercise got me out of the house and functioning again.
i rly like chinese plus sized fashion bc they use models who aren’t just hourglass/pear shaped, a lot of them have wide waists and larger arms and its so nice to see that like too much in american plus size they try to only show models who have the coke bottle figure in some way and its like cute but thats not gonna help me when i buy the garment and it looks totally different on me.
like u almost NEVER see models wit these proportions for western plus sized clothes but like how cute is this???
Just a reminder, but you do not need to “earn” being tired.
You’re allowed to be tired, even if you haven’t “done” anything and you’re allowed to be tired even if you did less than someone else.
Being tired is a normal thing your body does for a whole plethora of reasons, and is a basic bodily function. You don’t need to “earn” basic bodily functions, no matter what anyone else tells you.
hey hey hey this is really important, especially as a reminder to people with disorders that cause chronic exhaustion.
